If a person needs to get a message to you from outside the valley they can contact our office at 509-699-2056 and we will deliver a message to you. We encourage this only with urgent matters as most people come to Stehekin to get away from their everyday worries.

WHAT DO I DO WITH MY LUGGAGE?

HOW DO I PAY FOR THINGS IN STEHEKIN?
While North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express (checks are NOT accepted at The Lodge at Stehekin), many businesses in the valley prefer to have payments made with cash or a check. This is due to the expensive setup and processing of credit cards from such a remote area. Be sure to bring a little cash with you to spend at the other locations. Also, if you need to ride the Stehekin Shuttle, you can purchase tickets at the General Store with a credit card, but it’s good to have some spare change for tipping the driver. There is NO ATM in Stehekin and the Lodge is not able to give cash back on purchases.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY AT THE LODGE?
A deposit of one night plus tax is required for reservations 60 or more days out. Payment in full is required within 60 days of arrival. Cancellations are required 30 days prior to arrival to receive a full refund less a $15 (plus tax) processing fee.
WHAT’S THE WEATHER LIKE?
In the springtime, we usually experience windy conditions and the mornings/evenings are still cool with the days warming up to 50-70 degrees. Summer is very comfortable for most – late July and August start to get warm (80 and 90 degrees is normal); that is when most folks enjoy playing in the river and lake. Fall is traditionally magical with its crisp, clear days and cold mornings and evenings. Winter finds the valley with an average snow level of 4-6 feet, and temperatures can drop to below zero. We recommend you keep weather conditions in mind no matter what time of year you plan to visit. Please do inquire about the weather…although we can’t predict the weather, we can tell you how it’s been lately. Though it’s rare, we’ve even experienced snow conditions in summer, especially at the higher elevations. The rooms at the Lodge have heaters and fans, but no air conditioning.
If you are traveling by private boat to Stehekin and are unaware of the moody winds of Lake Chelan, we highly recommend being prepared to pull in to a safe harbor, if necessary, due to high winds or a breakdown. Be prepared with food, shelter options, sleeping bags and any medications just in case. It’s also a good idea to have a flare or something bright to get the attention of the passenger boat in case you are in any trouble.
